I am based in the picturesque village of Histon, just north of the historic city of Cambridge in the UK.

I was introduced to the joy of making in the workshop of my best friend’s father, with commissions from our school drama department. So it is that I can modestly say that my first completed project was an original time machine, followed by a reproduction Wooden Horse of Troy.

Since then I have made furniture as time, workshop space and tools allowed. It was at The Cass (The Sir John Cass Institute of Art Architecture and Design) that I acquired an appreciation of fine furniture making and have continued to learn by spending time in the workshops of a number of the UK pre-eminent furniture makers, such as Marc Fish and David Savage.

With a work back ground in manufacturing engineering and product development, I am now interested in creating pieces that respond to the unique requirements of their owners (ergonomic, environmental, stylistic).  I love the flexibility of hand making, that allows me to source material from small wood suppliers, create curved organic designs and embrace detail – factors typically squeezed out for effective mass production.
