Another great commission and challenge for me. The client wanted an attention getting art deco style cabinet to fit in an unused fireplace. However the chest that currently filled this space was used by his wife to store bed linen, so the function was a linen press.
We settled on sycamore for the main cabinet with bun feat of ebonized oak. The veneered door design was developed together with the client who was delighted when I suggested it was a bit ‘Hobbit-y’!
The interior has three linen draws, that can be slide out on cherry runners dovetailed into the carcass.
